the old rugged cross, cross of god

Continued From > Christian Salvation

The Apostle Paul said in Romans 1:16  “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Paul knew from experience that the Gospel is the power of God that can take a murderer and change him into a man whose heart is filled with love, because before his conversion he was a murderer, he was there approving of the murder of Stephen when he was stoned to death.

Paul knew the changing power of the Gospel of Christ and how it can completely change the life of a man, woman, boy or girl. Yes,  Paul knew that it’s only these people who have had this life changing experience that will have an impact of the world. For you see the world cannot change for the better until the hearts of men and woman, boys and girls are changed.

The Gospel is the power of God that takes a fallen woman, lifts her up and makes her as pure as an angel. The Bible says in Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

The Gospel is the power of God that takes a drunkard and makes him a sober man.

They teach in college in addiction classes that once an alcoholic always an alcoholic– that might be true for for the person that has never experience the life changing power of the Gospel,  but for the person who has accepted Jesus Christ it would be an insult to God and Christ to say that once an alcoholic always an alcoholic, we would be calling God a liar!  The Bible says, in Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” and in 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

After more than1900 years the Gospel has lost none of it’s power. It is as much the power of God unto salvation today as it was when it was first preached by Paul the Apostle and many others.

The Gospel needs no help from me, It needs no handmaid or earthly helper.

The Gospel can overcome all, and I mean ALL obstacles and break down all barriers.

Sin is no hindrance, the Gospel can reach down into the gutter most extremities that a human soul can sink, and still bring the abounding grace of a loving God who said in 2 Peter 3:9 “I want none to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

God is so rich that He will not sell any of this, even the wealthiest are so pitifully poor that they cannot purchase it. It comes as a FREE gift–by grace–through faith–plus nothing! And that’s why Paul was telling the people of the Churches in Galatia, and his message hasn’t changed, and today salvation still comes by grace through faith, plus nothing–by believing and accepting the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
