Every time I go to a Church to preach I pray and ask God what message He wants me to preach jesus cross, rugged crossat the Church I’m scheduled to preach in. I think the people in these Churches have heard the Gospel hundreds of times, and God seems to say, but Glenn—there might be one person who hasn’t heard the Gospel or hasn’t understood it.

Like the man who had been a pastor for 30 years and had probable heard the Gospel many, many, times. One day while listening to a preacher on his car radio he heard the Gospel message about how Jesus died for our sins on an old rugged cross–and he realized for the first time that Jesus died for HIS sins and he needed to repent and ask Jesus to forgive him and ask Jesus to save him.

A 70 year old pastor with 30 years experience as a pastor, and now for the first time he would have something exciting to preach about.

Yes, the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation, and the most valuable thing to God is your soul.

The Bible says in 1st Timothy “and here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance; Jesus came into the world to save sinners,” and Paul adds [of whom I am the worst]

Paul knew he was a sinner–undeserving of Gods grace, but he also knew what the power of the Gospel had did for him.
